About us
The research group for High Temperature Processes and Industrial Ecology (HiTemp) has evolved from the Thermodynamics in Materials Engineering (Thermo) research group (1996-2011). The original scope of the ThermoGroup has been maintained, albeit that the focus has moved fully to high temperature processing research in the framework of sustainable materials management. Research
The behaviour of refractory materials, non-metallic inclusions and slag is studied using experimental and simulation techniques. The group runs in collaboration with leading metallurgical companies the Centre for High Temperature Processes and Sustainable Materials Management. Other important topics are related to industrial ecology and the valorisation of waste streams generated in high temperature metallurgical processes. Read more
