Master of Engineering: Materials Engineering
The Master of Engineering: Materials Engineering programme offers three options: Metals & Ceramics, Polymers & Composites, and Materials for Nanotechnology. They share a pool of general educational courses and core courses of materials science and engineering in combination with more specialised option-specific and elective courses.
Emphasis is also given to developing broad analytical skills and problem-solving capabilities. Likewise, ample attention will be devoted to the practical aspects of materials science through case studies and mini-projects that familiarise the student with the development, processing, characterisation and evaluation of the most important material classes; metals, ceramics, polymers and composites. Moreover, practical experience will be gained in the most relevant material characterization and evaluation techniques. A modelling and/or experimental Master’s thesis will complete the Master’s programme.
