Core Materials Engineering Courses

The programme offers three options, i.e. Metals & Ceramics, Polymers & Composites, and Materials for Nanotechnology, that share a pool of general educational courses on the fundamentals and principles of materials science and engineering in combination with more specialised option specific and a number of general educative courses. The core courses are:

Computational thermodynamics for materials design (3 stp)

Advanced metal processing & case studies (6 stp)

Metals: production and recycling (6 stp)

Ceramics and powder metallurgy (6 stp)

Degradation and corrosion (3 stp)

Materials selection (3 stp)

Materials characterisation techniques (6 stp)

Finite elements (3 stp)

Design and analysis of experimentation (3 stp)

Project work and problem solving linked to the core courses (P&O Master) (6 stp)
