Leuven is a medium-sized city (about 100,000 inhabitants) located 25 km east of Brussels, the capital of Belgium and Europe. Its central position makes Leuven an excellent base for visiting Europe: Paris, Amsterdam, and Cologne are less than two hours away by train and London is about three hours. Leuven is an engaging town, with many historical buildings, charming rural surroundings, a very lively student atmosphere, and a rich cultural life.
